Water Health Laboratories (WHL) was established in 1994 with commercialization of a most inexpensive 'H2S strip test vial' for bacteriological water quality examination of drinking water for Unicef. The field oriented test was developed by DRDO Lab in 1982. WHL played a significant role in making the test more sensitive and available for drinking water quality monitoring in remote area in India and other developing countries through Unicef
For years WHL remain a single source for this product for UNICEF worldwide.

In 2014 WHL diversified in design, development and manufacturing cartridges for point-of-use water purification product for Whirlpool. In the same year WHL was awarded with 'Best localization support award - 2014 by Whirlpool'.
